Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player the Athlete

The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.

The team did not mention the player specifically in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Currently Not on File

No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.

Rice's Recent Legal Issues

The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals hurt. Rice was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.

On the field, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
