Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

An official for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions involving young women.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
