The British player made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams in the current campaign.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu will not compete in the last two tournaments in 2025 due to a medical condition she has been fighting for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health before starting next year's training.

Those preparations are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

She was also playing far from freely in the third set versus Zhu because of the lower back problem that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

Raducanu had three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

She secured twenty-eight matches during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way then falling in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
