The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards took place recently, and through an impressive performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The surprise role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the prestigious Top Game award, along with honors for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's success, its skilled performers also received individual awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved seven awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only four categories—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—judged by reviewers.
