A jet transporting the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the jet's front window, per an official statement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed in accordance with standard protocol and all passengers, including Pete Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This event is not the first time that a American defense plane ferrying a senior official has encountered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a American military jet ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to turn back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
