Preview the Remastered Classic Journey: This Complimentary Demo for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Debuts Soon.

Fans eagerly awaiting the release of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined can get a head start much longer. An exciting demo version will go live on the seventh of January, providing a substantial taste into the game's beginning segments. Notably, any save data achieved within this demo is eligible to be transferred directly into the full game upon its eventual release.

Beyond Just a Straightforward Remake: The Complete Overhaul

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined represents a comprehensive reinterpretation of the landmark year 2000 RPG, initially released as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Taking a distinct step away from recent series remakes, such as the previously released HD-2D versions, this version utilizes a striking three-dimensional aesthetic. Environments are designed to evoke detailed model sets, with party members having a whimsical toy-like appearance.

"Taking into account the previous port, the story was still quite lengthy. Consequently, the team reached a determination that we wanted to tighten the story, [and] craft an experience for today's gamers."

Major Mechanical Enhancements and Modernizations

The creators has introduced several modernizations to refresh the original experience. This encompasses:

  • Streamlined Field Encounters: Inspired by contemporary RPGs, low-level monsters can now be dispatched directly on the exploration screen without initiating a separate turn-based combat sequence.
  • Adjustable Battle Pace: Players can speed up battle sequences to quickly power through simpler encounters.
  • New Job Mechanics: One completely new character role has been added for this remake. Furthermore, party members gain the capacity to take on a secondary vocation, significantly enhancing strategic depth.

These alterations are designed to tackle one of the original game's frequent points of feedback: its immense playtime. That initial main quest was known to take more than 100 hours to finish. This reimagined version has been specifically designed to refine pacing and cut down on perceived repetition.
