The Lionesses versus the Chinese team – Women’s Friendly Match

Preamble

Greetings and welcome to the friendly fixture between the English side and the Chinese squad at Wembley Stadium. This promises to be an exciting contest with the reigning European champions facing the reigning Asia Cup winners.

England’s national stadium is fully booked for the event, which will see Fran Kirby honored pre-match after her departure from the England squad before the Euro tournament this past summer.

Squad announcements will be shared imminently, but there was a late squad update for England. On Friday, the goalkeeper Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a small issue, and so previous starter Ellie Roebuck has been added to the squad.

With Hannah Hampton out of action, it will be interesting to see who the Lionesses' coach Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. This information and additional developments are on the way before the opening whistle at 5:30 in the evening GMT.

Lineup Announcements

The team news is in. Anna Moorhouse starts in goal for England in the unavailability of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.

England: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.

Reserves: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.

We are awaiting the squad from China now; when it comes through, I will share it.
